Part 2:How to crochet Granny Square Perfect for Any Applique
For Sunny Day Blanket I made a special granny square -dense and strong enough to support any applique

Make 25 blue granny squares
1 Sun applique
24 Cloud appliques
Sew each applique to the center of granny square, secure the knot with fabric glue ( or clear nail polish)

Back Side
Front side (make sure the square with Sun is in the center and all Clouds are around)
All blue squares are joined, time to start border!
BORDER WITH SHEEP
Start with a blue row to even out possible gaps between blue Granny squares:
Ch 2, DC all around
Corner stitches: DC 3
Finish the blue row with a Sl St
Green: Ch 1, SC all around, finish with a Sl St (corner stitches: SC 3)
Make 9 rows.
Last row:
Ch 3
[ SC in the 2nd from the hook stitch (skip 1),
Ch 2 ] all around, including corners
Time to add the sheep!
Sew the Seep appliques to the green border secure the knots with fabric glue if needed.
